Genomics, Genetics and Gerontology (G3): A Study of Healthy Aging
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The BC Cancer Agency in collaboration with the University of British Columbia is recruiting volunteers to participate in a study of healthy aging. The purpose of this study is to understand how inherited genetic factors contribute to long-term good health and freedom from aging-associated diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.
We are looking for people who:
- Are 85 years of age or older.
- Have never been diagnosed with:
- Cancer
- Heart Disease
- Stroke
- Pulmonary Disease
- Diabetes
- Alzheimer's Disease
- Have a good quality of life.
- Live in the lower mainland.
Participation in the study usually takes about 1 and half hours and involves:
- Responding to a personal lifestyle, health and family history interview.
- Participating in four geriatric "quality of life" assessments.
- Providing a small blood sample (approximately 2 tablespoons).
