It is certainly interesting to see information from genome databases being visualized in three dimensions. At this point, I'm having some problems connecting to Ensembl from Sockeye . . . is this connectivity supported in 0.8? Anyways, I am looking forward to further development on this tool. For the record, my name is Benjamin Horsman, I'm a computer scientist with a fledgling interest in bioinformatics. Oh, and I have some background in Java 3D. Hopefully, I'll be able to lend a hand with the visualization at some point down the road . . . maybe after the first stable release. Best of luck with the project, guys! We answer them on a case by case basis. They do have very basic info about what java jre and computer type a user is using. We are going to start answering these questions in this more public forum and we wanted to dissuade fears about what might be included (you still have the option to not send this info though). We hope that users more inclined to use mailing lists, will find this a successful way of getting in touch with the sockeye community as a whole and that we will be more visible to you in our development process. Cheers, Stephen Below is an example of what the collector says about my computer...
