Postdoctoral Fellow, Researcher in Biologic Therapeutic Design

The laboratory of Dr Steven Jones at the Genome Sciences Centre is looking for a talented a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the research team. This multi-year project funded by the Terry Fox Research Institute and BioCanRX focuses on the discovery of novel biologics to treat cancer. This research role is to analyze human cancer genomic data, through bioinformatic approaches, with the goal of finding new targets for novel antibody-drug conjugate based cancer therapies.

You will be based at the Genome Sciences Centre in Vancouver, but will work within a multi centre team across the BC Cancer agency and the British Columbian Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD). We are looking for an individual who can undertake data modeling, programming, software development and experimental design.  The successful individual would be expected to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and have the ability to prioritize and manage the demands of multiple projects.

Qualifications

This position demands a strong bioinformatics and genomics background. Detailed knowledge of cancer biology would be an asset. We therefore, are a seeking a PhD with relevant bioinformatic expertise, including programming experience (e.g. python) and statistical analysis (e.g. R). A demonstrable publication history would be desirable.
