Postdoctoral Fellow, Translational Gastrointestinal Cancer Research
Job Code: PDF12-01-01
A Post-doctoral position is available immediately for a highly motivated recent PhD or MD/PhD graduate to join a dynamic translational research group, headed by Dr. Isabella Tai, Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, University of British Columbia and Senior Scientist at the Genome Sciences Centre, BCCA.
Current projects in the laboratory revolve around improving our understanding of the mechanisms involved in the development of chemotherapy resistance and metastasis in gastrointestinal cancers, and as well, in identifying potential markers and level of risk associated with the development of colorectal cancer. The goal is to develop either novel therapeutic targets for colon cancer treatment or novel screening tools for colorectal cancer detection. We continue to use the latest genomics, proteomics and bioinformatic approaches to identify potential targets or markers for this purpose. The following link provides an overview of all current projects: (http://www.bcgsc.ca/about/faculty/itai ).
