POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW, Prostate Cancer

Job Code: PDF 12-06-11

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Genome Sciences Centre at the BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) to study mechanisms of androgen receptor activity in prostate cancer.

The successful candidate will have recently completed graduate studies in a PhD or MD/PhD program with a strong research and publication record in the biological sciences. Prior experience with steroid receptors is a plus.  The fellow will join a laboratory with a focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in prostate cancer tumour progression and development of novel strategies for the treatment of the disease.  Ongoing projects merge the biochemistry of steroid receptors, molecular biology, gene expression, and small molecule screening to delineate pathways and molecules involved in advanced prostate cancer.  A major aim of these studies is to determine signaling pathways involved in prostate cancer.  See recent publication Andersen et al 2010 Cancer Cell.

BCCA hires on the basis of merit and is committed to employment equity.  We encourage all qualified persons to apply.

Location:  British Columbia Cancer Research Centre, Vancouver, Canada

Duration:  3 years
